We are looking for an Application Scientist within R&D with responsibility for Tech Support that will support the Mesa Lab´s Biopharmaceutical Development Division.
About the job
As an Application Scientist with responsibility for Tech Support you will be based at our headquarters in Uppsala, providing expert assistance to field application specialists and field service engineers in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing systems and applications.
You will solve application or service-related cases that may involve laboratory work and escalate support issues within the organization when applicable.
Supporting automated immunoassay systems requires a solid understanding of immunoassays but also an interest in system software and hardware with the ability to build technical knowledge over time. When fully up and running, the role offers a great opportunity to take ownership of the central support processes and KPIs. To manage and prioritize the daily activities and continuously improve the customer support workflows.
The work includes close collaboration with other functions, such as field application scientists, field service engineers, product managers and R&D teams within application, software and hardware. Hence, good communication and collaboration skills is key.
What you will do
- Support field application specialists and field service engineers and manage cases in the CRM system
- Drive process improvements in the Technical Support workflow and ensure effective KPI management
- Solve application or service-related cases that may involve laboratory work
- Escalate cases to CAPA board when applicable
- Monitor CAPA cases and provide feedback to field-based staff
- Participate in development project as a reviewer, tester, developing support or maintenance processes, training material and in creating user guides
- Participate in and develop the internal training processes for FSE and FAS
- Participate in developing on-line training materials for customer’s continuing or initial education
Education/Qualification
- Academic or technical education (Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Molecular Biotechnology or similar) with at least an M.Sc. level
- Experience with development and validation of ligand binding assays, preferably in regulated environments.
- Fluent in English and Swedish.
Preferred qualifications:
- More than 5 years of experience within Life Science industry.
- Experience with customer support or technical support.
- Proven ability as Central support specialist and as project manager.
- Experience in providing comprehensive support, encompassing applications, hardware, and software.
- Strong understanding of hardware, software, and application ecosystems, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting.
